The "I'll watch it later" problem

Everyone who loves shows knows the scene: you start four titles at once, disappear for a month, and when you come back you can't remember which episode you stopped on. The backlog grows, the guilt grows with it, and part of the fun fades away.

The good news: with three simple habits, you can take back control without turning your hobby into a spreadsheet.

1. Only three "active" shows at a time

The brain works better with a small number of open contexts. On Flixie, treat Continue Watching as your inbox: if it's there, it means you're going to watch it this week.

If a show has been sitting for more than two weeks without you missing it, use the "Stopped watching" button (or swipe left to right on mobile) to take it out of the active queue. It stays in your history — it just leaves your radar.

2. Tell "on my list" apart from "currently watching"

Your List is a wish. Continue Watching is a commitment. Keeping these two states separate avoids that constant feeling of owing something.

Practical rule: add freely to your list, but only mark the first episode as watched once you actually start the show.

3. Close the loop

Finished a season? Mark it as complete. Besides the genuine satisfaction of checking it off, this feeds your profile statistics and your recommendations — Flixie starts suggesting titles similar to what you actually finish, not just what you start.

One last reminder

A backlog isn't a debt. It's a library. If you organize it in layers, the library looks great — and you get back the time for what really matters: watching.
