No more starting from scratch

One of the most common requests from people trying Flixie for the first time is the same: "I already have years of history in another app, can I bring it over?". Starting today, yes — at least if you're coming from TV Time.

The new importer accepts the file you export from TV Time and creates, in your Flixie profile, the equivalent watch history of movies and show episodes. Statistics, achievements, and recommendations automatically take everything into account.

How to generate the TV Time file

TV Time doesn't offer an easy native export, so we use a free community extension:

  1. Install the TV Time Out by Refract extension in Chrome.
  2. Log into your TV Time account in the browser.
  3. Open the extension and click export — it generates a file with your entire history.
  4. Save the file on your computer — it only leaves your device when you send it to Flixie.

How to import into Flixie

  1. Go to Profile → Import.
  2. Select the file you downloaded.
  3. Watch the progress bar — Flixie processes titles gradually to avoid overload.
  4. At the end, you'll see a summary: how many items were imported, how many already existed, and a list of any we couldn't find (rare, but it happens with very obscure titles or different spellings).

What gets imported

What's left out (for now)

Security

The file is read in your browser. Only the information needed to match titles with our database and the "watched" dates is sent to record your history in your account. Nothing is shared with third parties.

Happy migrating

If you've been trying to organize years of shows in another app, now's the time to bring it all into one place. If you run into any issue along the way, use the support button in the footer — we'll help sort it out case by case.
