A page all your own, visible only to those you've accepted
The most common question among friends who love movies and shows is simple: "what are you watching right now?". Starting today, the answer lives in one fixed place on Flixie. Everyone now has a profile page summarizing their journey — and it's private by default: it only shows up for people who have an accepted connection with you.
What shows up on the profile
- Introduction: nickname, photo, country, and that short bio text you wrote.
- Journey numbers: how many movies and shows the person has completed, how many hours of screen time they've racked up, and how many titles are saved to their list.
- Recently watching: the covers of the titles they most recently marked, ordered by newest activity.
- Saved to list: what they've set aside to watch later — a great place to find your next recommendation.
Everything has clickable covers: a tap takes you straight to the movie or show page, where you can save it to your own collection or recommend it to another friend.
How to open someone's profile
- Go to the Community Hub.
- Open the "My Friends" tab.
- Tap the person's nickname or photo.
That's it — the profile opens with the full feed. Lists load gradually, with a "see more" button when there are more titles to show.
Privacy comes first
This part matters, so it's worth spelling out clearly:
- Only connected friends can see the profile. If there's no accepted connection between you two, the page shows nothing — just a notice that the profile is unavailable.
- Anyone not signed in also sees nothing and is invited to join.
- No email, full name, or contact info: the profile only shows nickname, bio, country, and movie/show activity.
- You stay in control: if you remove a connection, that person instantly loses access to your profile.
What's next
We're already looking at showing titles in common between you and each friend, achievements along the journey, and a quick way to recommend something right from the profile. If you have an idea, send it through the Community Roadmap — that's where most of our recent updates have come from. 🍿
